Lots to do today

It's a chore day. My husband had a dementia class early today so we were awake much earlier than we usually are. I'm not much of a morning person (in fact, I'm not much of a daylight person) but with my husband gone earlier, I seem to get a lot more done.

I've already done all of my online "work" (this is what I call my surveys and point programmes), so I can do some of my sweepstakes and contests - my weakness!

Today, I need to bake bread, get a couple of batches of biscuits done so I can just pull them out when neccsary, and I need to make a batch of pasta sauce as well. I've already got the bread rising (it's quick and simple, if I can do it, anyone can) and I will get started on the pasta sauce soon. I'll wait for the biscuits until later so I can use the oven one after another to save a bit of energy money.

I also need to get a bit of the housecleaning done, but I will wait until later, as both cats are sleeping nicely, and quiet kitties make my life easier.

Normally, today would be laundry day as it is Friday, but I did 5 loads earlier in the week and there just isn't enough to justify the water. I will wait until Monday.

I haven't decided what to make for dinner as of yet. We'll see, though I suppose I should make up my mind fairly soon if I want to defrost any meat for my husband to have.

Little Gothic House on the Prairie

As this is my first official post of musing that may make no sense, welcome.

Some days I feel like the gothic version of Martha Stewart, and other days I feel like a gothic version of the prairie woman.

I am an old fashioned stay at home wife. I have a wonderful husband who works incredibly hard to take care of our little family (which, currently is only the two of us and 3 furkids, but hopefully we will be blessed with our own gift soon enough) I take care of everything about our home, mostly happily, although believe me, there are moments I wish to gleefully smack someone upside the head with my frying pan.

I love things simple.

I am perfectly happy with the little things in life.

I do not need to go out every weekend, though indulging in a wonderful glass of good wine is a beautiful thing indeed.

I love to bake my own bread and biscuits, I cook from scratch, I make my own pasta sauce; though I appreciate being treated out to a nice meal at a quiet restaurant, and I will cheat with some convience and package foods.

I am careful in spending my husband's money, and border on the good side of frugal. Thrift stores are my guilty pleasure, and I hate to purchase something if it is not on sale or clearance.

Normal people drive me insane, and I rant about them often.

I am Lily Munster crossed with Morticia Addams with a hint of June Cleaver mixed in. My values, my thoughts, my standards, are not as one would think at first glance.

Mi Familia is my everything.
