Panic At The Registers

If you've been reading any blogs the last few days, you may have seen postings where folks have been turned down using their legit, printed from Target's own website at their local Target. I've heard more stories about problems redeeming coupons at Wal*Mart as well, not that is new - they are known for being rather cranky when you present coupons at the register.

So I wasn't too thrilled to see this video on the Yahoo page earlier.

I'll be honest, the thought of not being able to use any coupons when I shop scares the living daylights out of me. I, like many others, heavily rely on them to have pretty much everything we need in this family - even when we out to eat, or purchasing clothing or items for the house. It's a very rare occurrence that I go shopping without using at least one coupon - and I mean VERY RARE.

I remember a few years back when hardly anyone wouldn't accept our now beloved internet printed coupons, and I hope this will not be the case in the near future. I also hope that this doesn't cause them to stop taking even the manufacturer's coupons from the Sunday papers at times!

It's bad enough that many stores don't bother to take the time to educate their cashiers on the store's coupon policies or even how to input coupons properly through the registers (how many times do you stand in line while the clerk calls someone over because they are unfamiliar with the process if it doesn't scan on the first swipe?) But to be made out like a criminal (which I've had happen in the past myself) because you are using coupons is just completely unacceptable.

I hate that a few bad apples are ruining it for the rest of us honest folks just trying to make the most out of our hard earned money.
