If you own a deep freezer, especially a chest freezer, you should go through it once a month.
I found a few items towards the bottom I didn't even remember buying! Oops! It must have been a good deal, if I bought it, and since my freezer is less than six months old, it's not old enough to throw away (but if I hadn't been making room for another turkey, it sure would have been in the garbage when I finally found them!)
So, slight change of dinner plans for the next few days so I can use it up!

I keep a dry erase board beside my refrigerator with all the frozen stuff listed- just so I know what I have. Right now my freezers are stuffed. I need a small deep freeze!
Shhh! Stop living my life! The other day I cleared out the basement freezer just a little, and the turkey I chucked on garbage day had a "use by" date of March 2007. Oops.
