Off the grid fun...

Well, kind of, if you want to call it that.

We just got our internet back after two weeks of withdrawals. Apparently, the wiring for the internet outside was corrupted, and after a week of he-said, she-said with Qwest (they refused to admit the problem could be on their end), finally an appointment was scheduled - for a week later (don't get me started!) -plus two trips made by different techinicians, we know finally have our beloved internet again. Yes, I hugged the computer once it was back online. Since we live out in the middle of nowhere, have no cable, and there's only so much cleaning and organizing I can do... I was slowly losing my insanity without my beloved blogs and message boards to read.

The thought of a grid shutdown (for anyone not knowing what I mean by that... think no electricity, phone lines etc due to a natural disaster) just makes me want to whimper in fear. Looking around here, most of my routine depends on electricity. Let's face it, it's a little hard to keep those eggs and milk fresh without a running fridge, much less bake a pie without the stove going (although, it is easier to cook with a fireplace than without, if neccessary)

So I have lots of reading to get caught up on. Yippee!
