Change A Pet's Life Day January 24

January 24th is Change A Pet's Life Day. The first ten adoptions at each participating Hill's partner shelters are free on January 24, 2009. New pet owners will also receive a starter kit that includes free Hill's Science Diet® pet food and tips to give their adopted cat or dog the best start in their new life. Visit Science Diet's website to see if a shelter in your area is participating.

Fellow Kitsap County, WA residents, our local shelter IS participating in this event! Contact the Kitsap Humane Society at (360) 692-6977. If you've never visited it, it's located over in Silverdale on Dickey Rd NW.

If you've been contemplating adding a new furry member to your family, this is a great opportunity! All pets adopted from the shelter have their spay and neuter included, as well as first shots. Our two youngest kitties came to us from the Pierce County shelter off death row (the fluffy one you see in my photos was literally several hours from her last chance). For $90 (if you participate in this event, it's waived!) not only did they have their spay or neuter, they had their shots, their first vet visit after they had been with us, and they were also sent home with a bag of Science Diet food each, as well as a carrier, a collar and leash. This goes for dogs too!

If your home is already full of furry faces, take a moment to spread the word on.
