Thrifty Thursday: Feedback To Companies Can Result In Coupons

If there's a product you use often and cannot live without, make sure you send an email to the company or fill out the contact information on their website and let them know! Not only does this help keep the product on the market, but often when you take the time to do this, you'll get a personal email from their marketing department offering to send you coupons or a discount on your next purchase.

While you're on the company's website, don't forget to sign up for any marketing email lists they may have. I often get samples and coupons sent to me because I am on a company's mailing list!

You can even phone a company if you don't often have internet access just by using the 1-800 number located on their product. Make sure you have the product handy if you can, as they often like to know exactly which style of their product you are referring to.

If a certain package of your favorite product didn't seem right, let them know too. I used to purchase a brand of frozen burritos for DH to take to work. It was supposed to have 10 to a package, but several times I ended up with 8 or 9. I notified the company, who was kind enough to send me a coupon for a free product to make up for it. (Amusingly, the package I got free also was missing one! It had apparently came from the same batch.)

Most of all, PLEASE be honest when corresponding with any company. Never tell them you didn't like a product if you did, just to get a refund back of your purchase price!
