Earth To QFC

I know it's no big secret that I am more of a Fred Meyer and Albertsons kind of gal. I hit up Safeway, Grocery Outlet, and once in a blue moon Save-A-Lot too when I'm on the hunt for deals. QFC on the other hand, is a little bit out of my usual shopping route, so I only go there if there's a great deal advertised.

The few times I have been in the local QFC, there are always very few shoppers. Now I know we sometimes shop at funky hours, but today, on one of the busiest shopping mornings of the year, at a normal shopping time, you could hear a pin drop.

And now I know why, after walking through the store and looking at the prices on the shelves. My eyes were huge. To shop their produce department, we'd need a much higher paycheck. The dairy department? Oh. my. word. The meat department at least had a ton of markdowns - obviously, because it's not selling.

Add in to the fact that this particular location is sorely outdated - I remember shopping in stores that look the same as a child, and I was born in the 70s - the floors looked dingy, and the lighting gave it a not good for a grocery store gloomy look. The frozen food department basically consists of the old school, totally not energy efficient, open freezers.

The clerk who checked me out? She didn't exactly make me want to shop there again. Not even an itty bitty smile.

QFC needs to get some help to this store - stat.
