I Confess...

as a little girl I was totally obsessed with the play (and movie) Annie. I mean completely and utterly OBSESSED. I wanted to play Annie, and I was convinced I could belt out Tomorrow like there was no tomorrow.

Oh, I could sing back then, that wasn't the problem. Looking like Annie? Now that was a problem. Even with a wig, I guarantee I was not going to pass as Annie. I mean Annie looked like this:

I looked like this:

Sigh!

But I still love it, just the same, even 20 plus years later. So when I came across a copy of the Annie soundtrack on clearance for $1 the other day, I had to grab it, if just to annoy DH. (I blame you if our daughter becomes obsessed with this movie, he grumbled)

Then as I was listening to the lyrics of It's The Hard Knock Life, I suddenly realized it could be the Murphy's Law theme song! Maybe I was onto something!

Don't if feel like the wind is always howl'n?
Don't it seem like there's never any light!
Once a day, don't you wanna throw the towel in?

So maybe I should sing Tomorrow instead?

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

(Yes, I am sorely lacking sleep)

I always hated Annie, only because I looked like her when all I wanted to do was look like Wednesday. The grass is always greener isn't it?

Jen, too funny! Yes, it is always greener when you're a kid, isn't it?

Do you remember that awful Sun In stuff for your hair? I think I used that by the gallon trying to get my hair red! LOL! I gave up when I was 12.

I still love Annie and my 7 yr old loves her, as well. Lucky you for getting the soundtrack for $1!.

I remember loving Annie too when I was little. But there certainly weren't any curly red haired locks coming my way either. ;) Although I probably would have bought the soundtrack for a buck too.
