Review: OrbitBrush

I was really excited when I heard about OrbitBrush and was lucky enough to get to review it! My hair is thinner (and frizzy!) but it's long - down to my waist. It gets tangled something fierce. In fact, I haven't used a hair brush on it in years. To detangle, it takes ages with a good batch of deep conditioner on my hair and a strong wide tooth comb. My back usually aches when I am done from bending over trying to get those darn knots out!

The OrbitBrush promises it can get rid of any tangle painlessly in 3 minutes or less. It has a patent pending, independently rotating wheels that start to spin when it hits a knot or tangle in your hair. It was created by George, a Daddy who brushed his two daughters hair every day. He thought there had to be a better way - and after a bit of tinkering, the OrbitBrush was born!

At first glace of the brush handle, you may think it uses batteries, but it doesn't. It brushes around the tangles, gently releasing the hair. The tangles get smaller with each repeated stroke of the brush down your hair.

I decided to let DH be the guinea pig with my hair so I could feel how it felt to be on the receiving end with someone else brushing my hair. We tried at the end of the day, so my hair definitely had it's share of tangles. It took him a few tries at adjusting it the first time we used it so it didn't pull, but I have to say I was really surprised at how quickly it took every tangle out. Within 5 minutes, it was done. (compared to around 20 minutes with the comb)

I did loose some hair in the brush as you can see in the photo, but I loose much, much more with a comb. Plus, when DH was done, I pulled on my hair a little and no hair came out in my hands. Normally after I comb it, I'd have strands of hair in my hands.

Because it works so quickly, this is just perfect to use on a squirming girls hair. Even the worst of tangles could come out in minutes with very little hassle.

And because the OrbitBrush gets rid of tangles so easily, it cuts down on the amount of products you need to use on your hair. It saves money not buying detangler, and it also helps the environment because all those chemicals aren't going down the drain when you wash it. The box it arrives in can also be recycled. (no cutting your hands on hard plastic!)

I'd never have considered brushing my hair so often before I tried the OrbitBrush. I'm actually looking for an excuse right now just to brush it (as my readers probably already know, I'm a little strange like that) I can feel the difference in my hair by using it - I'm not having to weigh it down with a deep conditioner every time I wash it just to get the knots out! (and now that I am used to it and have adjusted it, it only takes a minute or two to brush my hair)

OrbitBrush was also recently featured on The Today Show! You can purchase it online and it will be shipped straight to your doorstep. Visit their website for a fun video showing some serious knots and the OrbitBrush in action!
