CD Review: Ballas Hough Band

Thanks to One To One Network I got to torture my death metal loving husband make my husband listen to Ballas Hough Band's new self titled CD with me - and I caught him on more than one occasion busting out singing "Devastated" when the CD wasn't even on, so it really is catchy.

I'll be honest: as most of my regular members probably know, this really isn't my kind of usual music. I'm generally stuck in my 80's pop or goth-y land with a little bit of Latin pop thrown in.

If you're a Dancing With the Stars fan, you'll recognize several of the members. Both Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are well known names on DWTS. Mark and Derek wrote a lot of the songs on the album together, and were signed to Hollywood Records last Summer. The self titled debut album was released March 10th, and they will be hitting the road this coming Summer.

The first single released is "Do It For You", but my favorite off the album is "Fall" - "Fall" is making it onto my Ipod - it's a great beat for cleaning music.

If you're into uplifting music with a great dance beat, you'll love the CD. It's upbeat and catchy, and like my DH, you'll be singing along to "Devastated" before you know it. ;) Visit Amazon to purchase the debut CD or head over to their MySpace to hear some of the new tracks yourself.

I had to search for them on YouTube, I had no idea who they were. Not really my kind of music either. Its a fun beat to dance to though. I am with you on the 80's pop, love it!
