The Challenge
Alright, I've been challenged, and I am gleefully taking up the challenge, because hey - I love a challenge, especially food related ones!
(Some of you are reading this very confused right now. That's ok.)
My challenge: Since the economy is down the drain for us Mommas, we're all trying to come up with budget meals that are cheap yet filling and not boring for our families. I get to create 5 budget dinners based around a store brand box of macaroni cheese. I can't spend more than $1 to add to the mac n cheese (gulp!) The average store brand mac n cheese costs anywhere from 25 cents to 50 cents. I stocked up when Albertsons had their store brand at 5/$1 awhile back. My prices will be based on Fred Meyer's regular and sale prices, since I post the deals from that store.
Think I can do it?
I'll post a different recipe each week for 5 weeks containing all or some of a box of mac n cheese.
(Now I will say you may notice Kraft brand mac n cheese in my pictures of some of the recipes. I have a ton of assorted mac n cheese, and I'm using them in order of the use by date so as not to waste)

I think that the average family will greatly benefit from this series! I wish that it would work for me, but alas with my food allergies mac and cheese is out :(
