I Am So Mad!
I just threw away half of the contents of my fridge. Again.
No, it wasn't because I haven't cleaned it out in ages.
OK, weeeell, there was a jar of pickles that had a use by date of 2008 that had slipped through the cracks. Oops!
No, it's because like everything else in this coffin of a house, it's possessed and/or falling apart. Seriously.
The chicken I had in the bottom drawer? Frozen, with one heck of a freezer burn.
Mind you, it was in my fridge, not my freezer!
My veggies? Frozen. Good bye red pepper. Good bye asparagus.
My cheese? Moldy!
You'd think with half the fridge freezing things, that might be safe, but nooo - the cheese drawer has decided to do the opposite!
At least I buy things on sale so the hit isn't as bad as it could be (I'm trying to look on the bright side!) - but I'm guessing this means using any of the drawers are out. I refuse to buy a new fridge right now! *stomps feet*
(I did check the seal on the doors, that's not the problem. Coils are cleaned, temp is at the right spot inside, or so it says, anyways. It feels cold.)

Oh dear! I'm sorry. Veggies and meat are expensive and nothing you want to have to throw away. I hope it was just a glitch, like a plug being pulled or something like that... if not, may a new (free) fridge come your way somehow!
I so feel for you. Been there done that. About 8 years ago we had bought a new refrigerator and thought our problems would be over, but we got a lemon. There were months during the summer that I was cleaning out just like you. It was under warranty, we'd call, they'd come out and give excuses. Eventually I sent a complaint email. They bought back their lemon and came and picked it up.
One tip for you if a new refrigerator isn't in your budget just yet, we bought a dorm size refrigerator. Not the tiny cube size, the larger size. They go for under $100. That got us by so we could have fresh milk and other stuff until we got our lemon issue resolved.
good luck!!
I am not sure what to say but you are not the only one with kitchen appliance issues... My dishwasher won't drain so my pregnant self had to stand and wash, which is not so bad if I didn't have hip issues!!!
It HAS to get better!!
Oh, sorry to hear about that. Maybe it would help to check the condenser coil. :)
A Simple Life
I feel your pain! I went to get a bag of frozen broccoli out of our freezer yesterday... and it was thawed out. What!?? I threw away half of the freezer contents. :o( I can't afford a new fridge... but I have no choice. *sigh*
Hope you can fix yours!
I think your fridge is on the way out like mine. My sounds like some industrial fridge you'd find at a restaurant it is so loud now and half my fridge portion freezes and the other half is luke warm. Don't even get me started on what ices over in the freezer section.
THAT SUCKS...
Oh no! You'll have to think about a new one. I know it is a lot of money, but watch for sales. You'll end up saving money by not having to throw away all of your food every so often.
Ugh!! I just went through this last month. Ours turned out to be some kind of circuit board problem that was causing it to not defrost properly or something I didn't quite understand and it would randomly freeze and overheat in the fridge and freezer parts!! It seems like some models of newer (8 years or less old) have this circuit board thing in it and it goes out at about 5 years.... If you have questions e-mail me or whatever and I can try to help you out!
