Review & Giveaway: Spray 'N Wash Bright 'N White

I'm excited to tell you that I was recently selected to be one of the founding members of the Spray N Wash mom panel!

I'm amazed at the amount of laundry our little family has. I was even up doing laundry the other night at 2:30 in the morning, because DH needed something for work! (That's a rant for another day...)

It seems like I am always struggling with stains. I wish I could say that's all the little one's fault, but nope - the worst offender is my husband! At least once a week I seem to be saying a Hail Mary while trying to get a major stain out of his clothes. I love my husband with all of my heart, but boy, he keeps me busy!

That's why I was really excited to try out the new Spray 'N Wash Bright 'N White With Resolve Power, the new stain fighter designed to brighten and whiten clothes. Look at how cute the box was when it arrived!

Bleach terrifies me, so I don't like to use it on clothing. But did you know that 97% of clothing labels say Do Not Bleach? You'd think with all the years I spent in the clothing business, I would have known this, but I didn't.

Unlike bleach, Spray 'N Wash is safe for most clothing items. You can use it as an additive to your laundry detergent, or you can use it as a pre-wash spot treatment on the offending stain.

Being the chicken I am (ha!), I tested it out on a load of DH's mostly whites laundry. I did notice his white undershirts looked a little more alive than they usually did when I pulled them out of the dryer. I wish I had noticed before I started the load that there was an ink stain on his pants - I would have tried to pre-treat it. I could tell the stain looked better than it would have just using my laundry detergent, but it didn't take it out completely. I'm mad that I didn't get to try it out properly on the stain.

Round two with the next load of whites, I didn't have any major stains, just a few spots including one dinner stain. Again the load seemed a little brighter than they normally did, and the spots were gone.

Round three was scrubs. I hate scrubs. Scrubs attract stains like nothing else. Somehow, they always end up with greasy looking stains on them. I have to say, it improved some of the scrubs that I thought were on their last legs.

New Spray 'N Wash Bright 'N White With Resolve Power retails for around $4.99. You can visit their website to print a coupon to save $0.75 your purchase of Spray 'N Wash. Or...

Win it! The folks over at Spray 'N Wash have offered to share the love with two of my readers and send them their own mini washing machine with a container of new Spray 'N Wash Bright 'N White With Resolve Power! To enter, tell me your bleach or laundry horror story.

Here's mine: Just after DH and I were married, I did a load of our laundry at the laundromat. I had no idea bleach had been spilled along the edge of the washing machine. Guess what ended up with spots all over? His beloved Dimmu Borgir shirt. I still hear about that three years later! :(

Whenever my husband does laundry, I have a horror story. Every single time he does laundry, he ALWAYS forgets to take his chapstick out of his jeans pocket. Thus, I end up with melted chapstick all over my clothes. It drives me insane, I can never keep nice clothes because you can count on him to leave something in his pocket that'll ruin everything in that load!

O gosh - I'll never forget the time I dried a load of school clothes only to discover one of my children had left a couple of crayons in the pocket!!! From THEN on, I have always checked pockets, etc LOL

I too have done the chapstick thing. I collected them in middle school & high school and ruined so many clothes.

I once got bleach spots on my new Liz Claiborn sweater which I loved. It was ruined!

I had just bought a vintage Steveie Nicks t-shirt which I loved. Hubby was being nice and doing the laundry. And yes, he spilled bleach all over my t-shirt. I was devastated. But I couldn't be too mad because he was trying to help out.

I've put bleach in a bucket only to have it splatter all over the bottom of my pants and forever ruin them, so many times I can't count. You'd think I would learn...

I'm too lazy to separate colors, so my worst story is when I turned all my husband's white shirts and socks pink because something red was in there.

My worst laundry story is when I washed my husband paycheck. I didnt check his pockets before I washed his work clothes and when I opened the dryer there was little pieces of paper everywhere..uhoh..not good..but thankfully we received a replacement shortly thereafter
Thank you!

I washed a ramie item with the cotton items because I thought you could care for them the same way. I wound up with a pair of pants that might fit a doll but not me.
Thanks!

I had a pair of black pants that I absolutely loved. I had picked them up at a thrift. I think they were Liz Claiborne or something. really nice and comfortable. Not dress pants but casual. One day my husband was spraying down the front of the house (vinyl siding) with bleach water and had to go inside for a minute, so I picked up the sprayer and started using it. I didn't think I was getting any of it on me because I didn't feel anything. When I washed the pants they had little tiny speckles all over them. I was so upset, but should have known better.

thanks for sharing

I live in the country, so my whites over time get a orange/reddish tint in them from all of the rust in the water. I tried to add a bunch of bleach to my whites one day to get the staining out, not realizing that it would mess up everything, and I messed up a bunch of designs on shirts. Nothing to bad, but bad enough

The first night we moved into our new home, one that had been empty for over a year, my dad decided to do laundry. Never mind that he never did it before in his life. The water was so rusty it ruined all my best school clothes, and I had almost nothing to wear to school the rest of the year!

I got a great deal on a cute jacket on Ebay, but when it came in the mail, it had a tiny red stain on it. (The seller had written on the package in red permanent market and it bled through onto the jacket!) I was really upset since I thought it would never come out, so my husband thought he would fix it for me. He got some bleach on a Q-Tip and dabbed at the stain, and let's just say the jacket wasn't exactly white! The rest is history.

when I was a young (dumb) married person, I threw in my husbands white long underwear with a red sweatshirt. To my husband's credit, he wore the pink long underwear. Thanks!

I have plenty of laundry horror stories, but one that is fresh in my mind is when my teen son decided to keep a couple of pens in his jacket. Well, I had no idea they were there, and while I should have checked pockets that night, I didn't. I hastily loaded up the machine with some of my new work clothes, a few things of my sons and some of my daughters stuff. Normally I do loads apart, but this week I was trying to conserve water and do a big load instead of several small ones. Well, I didn't notice anything until I got ready to fold laundry from the dryer. The ink had burst all over the clothes and dried. It was awful---but a grim reminder that I needed to check pockets!

I remember washing Brea's clothes. It was one of my favorite outfits for her. I left it in the washer overnight and the colors bled on other parts of the outfit. Sorry if this doesn't sound right I am trying to hold my eyes open

My worst laundry experience was right before I bought my house, while I was still having to use a laundromat for laundry. Somebody had left a tube of glittery lip gloss in one of the dryers, and I threw all my clothes in it without noticing it. A whole load of clothes ended up with greasy, glittery streaks on them - ack!! I am so thrilled now to own my very own washer and dryer!

I was doing laundry when the phone rang. trying to hurry up and not paying attentiopn to what I was doing, igrabbed the bottle of bleach instead of the laundry detergent, and poured it into the washer.
If that was not bad enough, the washer was filled with colored clothes. Totally ruined everything. I been paying more attention since.

My husband is very particular about his laundry. Heaven forbid I was his jeans with a towel and they even get the first spot of lint on them! I gave up and from then on he's been doing his own laundry! LOL
Thanks for a chance to win.

I've always been a little bit clumsy. When I was first married I was getting things together to do the laundry and somehow managed to drop the bottle of bleach, knock the cap off and spray bleach all over me and the clothes I was wearing plus the clothes I was getting ready. Fortunately the clothes for the laundry were whites but I wasn't so lucky with my slacks.

When my son was in first grade, the teacher that was in charge of after school care, had all the kids decorate an outside wall with paint. It was dark when I picked him up, so I didn't notice until the next day that not only did my son paint the wall, but he also painted a sleeve of his brand new jacket. To top it all off, the paint they used was NOT water-based! Needless to say, the brand new jacket was pretty much ruined.
