Review: The Shandle

When I first saw the adult designs for the Shandle, I totally cracked up laughing! Some of the designs are just priceless!

Now, they have a lot of designs geared towards little boys (and girls) for potty training. But they also have a great section for us adults. And since potty training feels like it's ages away in this house...

C'mon, those of us wives with one bathroom (or even two or three) have the battle of lazy DH's leaving the seat up. It drives me absolutely CRAZY (and like I need anything else to make me more psychotic!)

Enter the Shandle.

The Shandle has a patented design that is treated with antimicrobial protection, to help ward off any extra yuckies. It slips under the seat as a handle to flip the seat up and down. (Note: please ignore my ugly bathroom. It is the one room we haven't tried to do anything with since we moved in)

It works great as motivation for kids... and husbands too. ;) At least if they forget to put the seat back down, we don't feel we have to pull out the hazard suit and gloves to put it back down ourselves. (I have an ick factor!)

The designs are printed on easy to clean waterproof vinyl labels - you can easily wipe it down with a Lysol wipe when cleaning up the toilet.

Now I let DH help choose which design he wanted, but ladies, if you don't like the sarcastic sayings, and have no need for potty training help at the moment, they have some more subdued designs such as one with a bird, and colorful patterns. There's also a plain one with the Shandle logo on it. If you are a female only household, you could also use this handle to put the lid up and down - it would fit on the side of the lid as well. (hint: make sure to wipe the surface down with a bit of rubbing alcohol and letting it dry before attaching it to your potty, and follow the 24 hour suggestion before using the Shandle after it's been attached!)

If you are potty training, this is my favorite one:

The Shandle retails for $5.95, comes in a little gift box, and is currently offering free shipping in the Contintental US! Now through March 11th, use code JFK25 to save 25% off your purchase!

I need one of those for my 8 year old nephew. The last time I was home, he left the seat up at my grandmother's house. I wasn't paying attention and missed that it was up. I went to sit down and almost fell in. If not for quick reflexes, I would have. You'd think that in a house full of women that he'd learn, but apparently it's not in the male DNA to do so.
