Book Review: By The Book How To Take Care of MY Kids, by Melissa Bishop and Karen Berg

By the Book How To Take Care of MY Kids, by Melissa Bishop and Karen Berg, is a manual that you can personalize with all the information to take care of your kids no matter what the situation. (Yes - it qualifies as a preparedness book!) By keeping the information in this binder, you'll be able to have the information whenever you need it - no more running around looking for lost information and contacts.

This book is full of great forms for you to fill out information in. You name the information you could fill out, it's pretty much in there. There's even a PET Survival information sheet for the critters roaming your home.

Instructions for the television remote control and who gets to use it? It's there.

Authorization to treat a minor? Check! (multiple sheets, even)

Child identification sheets that include fingerprints. Check!

How about a list to keep track of all the babysitters, and a second sheet to profile each babysitter for best times to call, fees, and if the babysitter prefers to work evenings or days. There's checklists for what to ask each potential caregiver, and a Nanny application form AND contract.

There's also even sheets for if your child is home sick and you have a caregiver over to watch them, complete with a section to write down medications last taken, and if they've eaten or drank anything.

Did I mention this book is really comprehensive? ;) You could scour the internet looking for forms and information for days, or you can get them all in this easy to fill out book. I think this is just perfect for busy families! (and people like me who hesitate to leave pets with anyone, much less kids!)

On the website, you can even order refills for certain sections of the book. Since you're placing items inside a binder, it's easy to update and remove parts of it with the refills.

By the Book: How To Take Care of MY Kids, by Melissa Bishop and Karen Berg is available online as a hardbound book and in PDF form so you can have it immediately and print the pages you need.

Seriously, we really need the section on the remote control (s). We have, like, 10 of them and my poor mother is terrified of being left to her own devices (no pun intended). Great giveaway!

Instructions for the remote would be quite handy...My mother-in-law babysits for us every once in awhile and she always has to call us because she hit the wrong button or she can't figure out how to get to a channel..lol..she is really good with instructions if they are written in front of her so this book would be great.

The form I would most want in a book like this is authorization to treat a minor.
