DVD Review & Giveaway: Yo Gabba Gabba! New Friends

Since as parents we are stuck watching our kids favorite shows over... and over... and over again... it's always nice to find something different for them to watch.

If you're unfamiliar with Yo Gabba Gabba!, it's a Nick Jr series for preschoolers. It features lots of music, led by the funky DJ Lance Rock.


In fact, everything about the show is funky. Think the Banana Splits Gang (OK I just showed my age there) meets Lazy Town meets well, funky town! Granted, I could live without the hip hop influence, but I'm all about the funky.

DJ Lance Rock wakes up his five friends with the magical words Yo Gabba Gabba! - hence, where the title comes from. His five friends are four monsters and one helpful robot.

Each episode is themed, kind of along the lines of old faithful Sesame Street - you get learning sections, animated sections, and of course, the funky sections.

On April 7th, Yo Gabba Gabba!: New Friends comes out on DVD. It features the brand new Jack Black episode, New Friends, that launched last Friday on Nick Jr.


And since you know I tend to love me some Jack Black when he does kid friendly roles, I have to give this new DVD my funky thumbs up.
