Giveaway: Dole Make Me A Chef

I love my Dole pineapple. It's an addiction. I've been known to open up a can and just dig in with a fork. I love to add my pineapple as a topping on pizza, and in recipes like my BBQ Sweet Chicken I posted awhile ago.

Check out www.DoleMakeMeAChef.com to get new recipe ideas from celeb chef Ben Ford. Seriously, you'll start drooling.

Even better, Ben has created four signature recipes with DOLE Canned Fruit and wants to share his culinary tips with you and three of your friends at his latest hot restaurant in Los Angeles. Enter your short essay about how and/or why DOLE Canned Fruit is a staple in your pantry, no longer than 200 words, and you could win a beautiful weekend in Los Angeles in June cooking and sharing a feast with Ben Ford! This contest ends May 8, so you have time to write your essay.

I don't know about you, but after this dreary winter we've had over here in Washington, a trip to LA sounds pretty good to me right now. Add in that it's trip where I get to talk to a great chef, and yes, I would be in heaven!

Win it! I'm giving away $25 worth of Dole product coupons to help you stock up your pantry and try out new recipes! Visit www.DoleMakeMeAChef.com and let us know which recipe is your favorite. (You must click over to enter - I'm tracking!)

I'll give you 10 extra entries if you enter an essay into the contest. Yes, I said 10! I want to see one of my readers win this trip - that would be so awesome! To get them, after entering either copy the essay into the comments here (on your first of the ten comments) or blog about the contest with your essay included as well as a link back to my blog's contest (leave the link in your first comment) Don't forget to add 10 comments and number them!

As always, you receive an extra entry for being a subscriber to my feed or follower to my blog, so sign up if you haven't already!

This giveaway ends April 24th, at 11:59 PST. US only, sorry. :(

I can think of two recipes off the top of my head that are great with pineapples. One is dump cake...mmmmm and the other is what my family and I call green goo. It's pineapple, green jello, cool whip, cream cheese and marsh mellows. There may be more to it but that's what I can think of off the top of my head. It's so yummy! Okay typing this has made me want to make one of those two. =)

The old saying is true: You are what you eat. We are a bunch of fruits! We have always loved fruit, from the regular to the exotic. If we aren’t experimenting with the exotic, we’re chowing down on the regular…and our regular is Dole. One thing we always do is incorporate Dole fruits into at least two snacks/meals per day. We put Dole pineapple on our homemade pizza and in our various attempts at Chinese food. We make an awesome dessert pizza with a mixture of fresh fruits and delicious Dole mandarin oranges. The oranges top off numerous salads, as well. Sometimes, we’re just gross and we dump whichever fruit we crave in a bowl…and eat each piece WITH OUR FINGERS! I know. Improper…but what do you expect from a bunch of fruits?
