Review & Giveaway: Sinupret For Kids

Since we're always sick in this house, I was interested in learning about Sinupret for Kids.

Sinupret, developed by Bionorica, is a natural remedy for Support for Healthy Sinus and Respiratory Function, made with a proprietary blend of European Elder, Common Sorrel, Cowslip, European Vervain and Gentian. In a nutshell, if taken on a regular basis, Sinupret can help prevent your kids from getting sick to begin with, by promoting healthy nasal passages, strengthening the immune system, and supporting the upper respiratory system.

According to the website, Sinupret:

Supports the upper respiratory system.*
Promotes healthy nasal passages.*
Strengthens the immune system.*
Sinupret has been the subject of multiple randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials for efficacy and safety on more than 3,000 patients and recommended for children ages 2 & up.
Does not contain stimulants, caffeine, ephedra or pseudoephedrine.
Sinupret has no history of dangerous side effects
Sinupret is cited as safe and effective in several medical journals such as the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Plant Medica, the Pharmacists's Letter for Efficacy and Safety and the American Council Guide to Herbs.

*These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Since it's for ages 2 and up, we've got awhile before we can use this, so I guess this is a partial review - I can't say it helped or not. I like hearing that it's been recommended by lots of European doctors, since they can be a little ahead of things here. Now, I'm not a doctor (quit snickering) so I can't (and won't!) say hey! this product is a cure all! But, if it fulfills a need you might have for your children, I'd suggest you discuss it with your child's pediatrician.

Win it! The folks over at Sinupret are letting me give away FIVE gift packs that include: Copy of The Healthiest Kids in the Neighborhood by Dr. Bob Sears, Sinupret sample, yellow children's binoculars, Sinupret for Kids activity books and stickers and mini plush bear.

This book has some pretty great touchpoints! (Me? Agree with Dr. Sears on something? Wow!) At any rate, as some of you may already know, we keep passing back and forms germs in this house. So to enter, let me know what natural remedies you've tried with your family (this tired Momma wants some ideas!).

well to start- keep clorox wipes or at least wipedown controls and wii remotes and all that jazz- kids wipe and pick boogers and well they pick the nose- have their hands in their mouths and then touch things- wipe it down and be assertive about it. Kids do not share cups make sure each child has their own cup to drink from and know no sharing.
You can try to stop the germs flowing but you have to see what they do and how it gets passed- I even wipe the steering wheel down and the door handles often..just really picky..no one has had the flu real bad this year so far this season- a little bug but nothing huge so I am grateful for that. Pillows don't even get shared- sorry but thats life and they learn each has their own- even hubs and I have different pillows.
I also make green tea to drink and they like it- don't know how well it helps but who knows.

A teaspoon of local honey a day (forever) really helps control allergies. (Not sure why, but it works) just don't use it with really young children who are too young for honey, or course.

I don't think I've tried any natural remedies other than St. Johns Wort for myself.

We've had great success with Sambucol, for my virus-prone daughter. Give it a try.

I've heard that if you put Vicks Vapor Rub on feet at night and then cover it with socks to bed, that it helps relieve chest congestion and a cough. I know people who SWEAR by this.

Lemon is the best natural remedy. Just squeeze the juice from a lemon into a glass of water and add some honey. Thank you so much!

Since you can't use cough syrups anymore (not that they ever worked with my son), I have tried sitting the snotty-nosed sickies in the bathroom with the shower running for some steam, honey to slow down coughs, and tried to get them to sip chicken broth (they wouldn't). Sigh.

I have tried lemon tea for my daughter when she had a sore throat - warm lemon tea. It really seemed to help. THank you!

I wipe everything down with clorox wipes. I give my son Sambucol and multi vitamen for my daughter. It may cut down on a few colds but they both are in daycare and still bring colds home.

I'm a big believer in water, drinking plenty of water to wash away the germs. We are not a family who chooses to use medicine.

When we all seem to be passing around the same bug and then getting another ... happened twice this fall/winter .... Tea is given ...it seems to make us feel better. I also use clorox wipes... looks like others said that ... but i find that it helps clean off phones, computer desk, keyboards, car keys, door handles, sick handles, soap bottles. Germs are being passed some where!!! Everyone has their own kleenex box too!

I love what Sinupret does. Right now I tend to use honey and tea for when they are sick as it is natural. I use Clorox wipes all the time and also use Hydrogen Peroxide to help disinfect the bathroom and bedrooms. I like to put Hydrogen Peroxide on Qtips as it works great around door knobs and inbetween the faucets where it is hard to get germs out.

Good old chicken soup is one remedy we try around here. Lots of hand washing and surface cleaning to help prevent some of the germ passing, too.
Thank you!

I make sure everyone gets their omega 3s and small doses of iodine plus selenium, garlic is good. Also you would be surprised how much more resistant you are when you cut out sugar and white flour and gluten. Also exercise and don't buy breads, etc. with enriched flour and give your family acidolphilis or yogurt daily. This is a good start.

One of our tricks for teething isn't that secret, we put an ice cube in one of those mesh food "lolipop" bags and let our son run around sucking on it. He loves it and its only water, no medicine.

When we have sore throats we use honey and ulum. It works great and the honey takes away the bitterness of the alum. We use melatonin for help with sleeping. We put a little bit of warm olive oil when we have ear aches.
My mom is a healer and these are just a few that she used on me as a child and that I use. We have lots of allergies in our family.

thanks
