Thrifty Thursday - Books
This week's Thrifty Thursday post is about getting books cheap.
We all know we can borrow books from the library for free, which is wonderful! But some of us end up racking up the late fees when we can't get them back to the library in time (guilty as charged!)
Many local libraries have monthly book sales, or carts full of books you can purchase from every day. Not only do you not have to worry about being late with them, the money goes back to the library to buy more books, and it's win-win situation.
Many thrift stores have good prices on nearly brand new books as well. Some thrift stores are rather scary looking, and I suggest you scope any new thrift store out sans kids on the first trip in to make sure first. We have a local charity thrift that sells children's books for just $0.25, and I've scored some nice hardback books that look brand new through them.
Another option is your local Craigslist or Freecycle Group. If there's a specific title you are looking for, you can always ask through there before spending the money on it new.
And as always, don't forget the many used bookstores that are usually full to the brim of great books.

Don't forget the online trading sites. I'm partial to BookMooch and PaperBackSwap, but there are others, too.
