It's Preparedness Tuesday - each Tuesday I post one thing you can do to help prepare you and your family for everyday disasters - be it job loss, bad weather (between being stuck in the middle of hurricane season, and the coming colder winter we're predicted), or even that ugly recession they keep talking about (blech!)
Today I want to share with you a great freebie for my fellow pet owners. You can receive a free Bark Buckle UP First Responder Approved Pet Safety Kit that includes a customized pet identification card and first responder vehicle decal. The identification card includes very important information such as your pet's veterinarian, emergency contacts for who can take care of your pet in an emergency, and notes, such as medication your pet is taking. It also includes your pet's photo. Fill out your information to receive it in the mail.
I urge you to take advantage of this freebie! It's perfect to have on hand in case of emergency. While they recommend that you keep it in your glove compartment of your vehicle, it's also great to have taped on your pet's travel crate if you have to leave your pet at a temporary shelter during an emergency situation such as a hurricane or in the aftermath of a tornado.
The decal is also great if you often travel with your pet in the car. It lets the emergency personnel on the scene know to check your car for your pets if you have been in an accident, or to help them out if your pet is running loose at the scene.
