Review & Giveaway: Flame Disk

I was all excited to try out the Flame Disk.

The Flame Disk is recyclable and made with ethanol. It's super easy to take along with you to the park or tailgating, and has virtually no mess - just toss in the recycling bin or trash when cool. When I say anyone can use it, I mean even me!

Check out my vlog:

video

See how easy it is! I loved that we could immediately put the food on the grill, no waiting for 20 minutes while the coals warm up. (or wait for what seems like hours while DH struggles with trying to even get it all lit! lol)

Now the flame lasts for about 40 minutes, so if you are going to do a ton of grilling or something that takes awhile, you'll probably end up using more than one disk. Be warned that if you grill something super greasy, it might drip onto the disk and possibly put it out. (I'd think 99.9% of the meat you'd grill wouldn't do that, but it's a heads up) It's OK if food drips onto it, I'm talking a ton of grease. Hopefully, you aren't subjecting your arteries to that, so this would never be a problem for you. ;)

Another thing I want to share is that when DH uses charcoal, I tend to end up coughing from the air. But with the Flame Disk, I didn't have any problems! It really does burn much cleaner, but it tastes just the same as with the charcoal.

You can purchase the Flame Disk at some locations throughout the US, or you can order them online. It retails for $19.99 for a 5 pack (plus shipping if bought online).

By the way, because the Flame Disk stores for up to 2 years and takes up little room, I recommend this as a great item to have in your emergency preps. If you loose the power, you can easily grill food outside with this! (never use it inside because even without charcoal, there is still danger of carbon monoxide poisoning!!)

Win it! The fabulous folks over at Flame Disk are going to give *10* of my readers their own Flame Disk to create a grilling memory of their own! To enter, tell me where you would use your Flame Disk (at home? tailgating?) and what you'd be grilling out!

As always, you can receive extra entries for:
-Subscribing to my feed or Following me (subscribers always get extra entries!)
-Blogging about this giveaway with a link back

Contest ends June 20th at 11:59PM PST. US only, sorry. PLEASE leave your email or make sure it's available in your profile, or I'll have to ask random.org to draw again!

We love to grill and there's many times when we don't have charcoal and don't want to run to the store to get any! The Flame Disk would be perfect for these moments! I would love to cook up some hot dogs for the kids with this! Thanks for the chance. Oh yea, it would be great for camping at the lake too!

Probably try it with hamburgers, first -- we grill a lot of fish too, but fish seems to really soak up any 'chemical' smell from whatever heat source you use ("No, not more charcoal starter fluid -- auugh, what happened to your eyebrows??") so we'd want to 'test-drive' it on some food a little more 'forgiving'... Thanks for the chance!
