Totally Random Thoughts Tuesday

randomtuesday

DH has the next two days off, and I guess that means more cleaning and counting down until my daytime routine goes back to normal on Thursday? ;) I think I need a mall excursion today!

I wish I was like Samantha in Bewitched. I want to be able to wiggle my nose and have things done around here. That would totally ROCK. Not to mention, I could wiggle my nose and end up somewhere fun for the afternoon, like shopping in another country. Plus, then I could totally avoid customs, who hate my guts. I love to travel, but US customs and I are not exactly best buds.

Speaking of customs, years ago, I crossed the US - Canada border on foot. Remember what I just said about customs? Well, this occasion was the day before Halloween. I had my hair in braids, and I was wearing a Viking helmet. It also happened to be hockey season, so I was carrying my bag and a hockey stick. Keep in mind my goth look. Yep, the customs agent checking me through wasn't amused, but folks in the background sure was. (Ah, if only I had a picture from that moment!)

Wicked is coming to Seattle and I'm trying to convince DH that we need a night in Seattle so we can go. (Do you think I would annoy the people behind me if I went dressed like I belonged in the show, pointy hat and all? LOL Totally kidding)

I really really need a new cell phone. Most calls I get cut off after 10 seconds. If I make it to the one minute mark? I feel like I won the lottery! I'm lucky to have less than 3 cut offs in a conversation. And the reason why I haven't been in a hurry to get the new one? You don't want to know how times it's been dropped. And in water too. And a few months ago, when I totally had to disinfect it after I learned it's not a good thing to carry your cell phone in an oversized hoodie pocket and bend forward in a public restroom. Yeah... ick! So I'm not in a hurry to buy an even thinner new fangled cell that will probably die after it's first trip to the floor.

The one good thing about this heat? My coconut oil is already at room temperature and I don't have to melt it before cooking - one less step for my weather induced slightly lazy tush!

I am the BOMB. In the kitchen, anyways. Sometimes. I made the bestest best banana waffles. Don't worry, I'll be sharing in another post.

Speaking of the kitchen, DH has willingly watched my Rachael Ray DVD I borrowed from the library with me. He was coming up with his dinner wish list, and asked me how come I don't make more of her dishes. Um... because her grocery budget is a little higher than mine? LOL One of her shows was dinner and movie. By the time I added up the ingredient cost I'm thinking she was close to $40. For $40, someone else is cooking for me. Hello, Red Robin? You're my idea of a romantic date at this point in my life. Mmmmm....

Don't ya just love when the husband stays home...actually I meant to write hate instead of love. Honestly, mine gives me SO much extra work when he's here and I'm literally counting down the hours until he goes back!

It's amazing how having the DH at home and you're all thrown out of kilter. I get more done when he's not here. Glad I'm not alone.

Happy RTT & mine's posted too!

I need a Samantha nose myself these days. Not enough hours in the day to do all I want to do!!

I picked up a Samantha nose on ebay for about $30. I just can't figure out how to attach it.

I'm still gonna plug Rachael Ray. She's my girl! I cook for our family with one of her recipes 75 percent of the time. It isn't nearly as expensive as you'd think if you start small.

And please...the heat? bah! I'm terrified about how cold it's going to be when we get there at the end of the month. I'm going to freeze my southern arse off.

I wanna be Samantha, too. I'd travel the world!

WICKED! We have tickets to see it on our anniversary on 07/07. I can't wait!
Try getting a Rachel Ray cookbook, I have one and the recipes are all pretty inexpensive. And only take 30 minutes to make which is lovely.
