Preparedness Tuesday - Red For Rescue
It's Preparedness Tuesday - each Tuesday I post one thing you can do to help prepare you and your family for everyday disasters - be it job loss, bad weather (between being stuck in the middle of hurricane season, and the coming colder winter we're predicted), or even that ugly recession they keep talking about (blech!)
Today I want to give you a quick safety idea. Keep a piece of red cloth in your glove compartment of your car, or your backpack or purse if you are on foot and walking. If you need assistance, even if you are phoning 911, tie the red cloth to your antennae (if it is safe to get out of the car!) or to a pole or tree branch nearby if you are on foot. This helps rescuers find you more easily, especially if there is a helicopter in the air so they can pinpoint your location to rescuers on foot, or patrol cars and ambulances in heavy traffic.

I'm waving my red flag right now!! I'm getting lost under the load of laundry that needs to be done. Thanks for the tip--it's a good one!
Cool Blog! I found you while "doing the drop" with Entrecard, and I know that I have visited your blog before, but I don't know if I ever posted a comment!
Anyway, I enjoyed reading your posts, and I like the idea of waving a red flag while I am partially buried by my laundry! :)
that's a good tip, i'm going to have to do that. thanks
