TV Show Review: Dinosaur Train

If I could wish for just one dish
My greatest wish would be for fish

My family recently got a sneak peek at the new PBS television show for kids, Dinosaur Train, from the Henson masterminds! (If you'd like to see my previous post announcing this new show, with more background information, click on over here!)

I've got to tell you, not only are the dinosaur characters cute, the theme song is even cuter!

The dinosaur train takes the dinosaurs everywhere, and brings visitors in. The show features lots of things to learn about the different dinosaurs, and helps teach kids values too.

The show kind of reminded me of a cross between The Land Before Time and Dinosaurs, the TV show from the early 90's. If you'll recall, dinosaurs was a Henson show too, so there's not that much of a stretch... just not as obnoxious as Dinosaurs was. ;)

The end of each episode features Dr. Scott, who teaches even more about different dinosaurs and how they lived.

Our final verdict: A+ for learning. We are so excited for this show!

Dinosaur Train will air on your local PBS show this coming Fall starting Monday, September 7th 2009! You'll have to check your local station to air times, since it varies from market to market. (Homeschoolers: this show is definitely worthy of a dinosaur tie-in!)

If you'd like a mini sneak peek, here's a video for you:
