So I was out there a few minutes ago moving my cheap sprinkler around when one of the neighbors commented the wet grass will be good with the fireworks going off.
So I sweetly said I wasn't worried about the fireworks; I was worried about people walking past flicking their lit cigarettes onto my dry grass. (I had no idea who said it, I just heard the voice)
Then I figured out it looks like it was the neighbor who smokes. Oops! Oh well, no one really talks to us around here anyways.
I hate
If you want to see beautiful fireworks, go see it done properly. Besides, you'll save money. And yes, if the fireworks end up coming down on my lawn, I'm out there letting it rip!
Lol. I love brutal honesty. I'm sure your neighbor will think twice about flicking a cigarette anywhere from now on. Great job, even if it was unintentional.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand the constant random popping and crackling that keeps me from sleeping!
ReplyDeleteGood for you. Maybe you should hose down the neighbors.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend
Heeheee I am always doing that kind of thing, I call it foot IN mouth disease :D it works though eh!
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting you guys have fireworks on the 4th of July! Duh! I hope you saw some pretty ones, we only have them at New Year and Bonfire Night here, so they are a winter experience. Fireworks in the summertime just seems to odd to me! (You have to wait longer for the night for them to show up surely!)
Hi there! I came across your blog while "doing the drop" with Entrecard, and I thoroughly enjoud reading your posts. I'll be back again soon! :)
ReplyDeleteha ha ha ha...I manage to stick my foot into my mouth big time too!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Bunny hop over to enter 4 great giveaways:http://energizerbunnysmommyreports.blogspot.com/(Dr Hippo books, CoverBee Laptop sleeve, Chex Mix bars, Piggy Paint- 10 winners in all!!)
I'm with you--I hate fireworks. The cats were so jumpy I had to turn the air on and close the windows, even though it was only 72 degrees outside. It helped and they relaxed a bit--but really--all those firecrackers in a garbage can...for hours???
ReplyDeleteI like your comment to the neighbor--at least they'll stay away from you now.
Nothing wrong with a little honesty. I had to set someone straight the other day and i felt bad afterward...but it had to be done.
ReplyDeleteIf they can use water to keep golf courses pretty and green, you shouldn't feel bad about sprinkling your lawn.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with neighbors and smoking thing. Yikes.
Sandy
I don't blame you for watering super dry lawn, I've SEEN people throw lit cigarette's and light a lawn before, it's not pretty!
ReplyDeleteI don't care much for fire works, the noise is too much for my 4 year old and I was glad I didn't go this year, the local professional show, a man working with the fire works and setting the grand finish was burnt so bad he died this morning...
