Dropped Your Cell Phone In Water?
I don't even want to admit how many times it's happened to me. Some of the newer phones may not survive the plunge, but you can always try! Here's what to do:
Dry it off with a towel immediately. Take the back off and remove the battery right away! Set both pieces down on another dry, clean towel, and let them dry for several days. Don't put the battery back in until at least 48 hours have passed!

Does that really work? Really?
Yep, I've had to do it twice with mine! Granted, my battery does not last as long as it used to, but it still works.
I lost mine in the snow when I found it I took mine apart and went searching for what to do, I read on a tech site to put it in uncooked rice and it would absorb the water I couldn't believe it when I turned it on and it worked after a couple of days. Of course I smelled jasmine rice when it would heat up but I wasn't out the money to replace it.
sweet! thanks! i'm sure i will have to deal with this at some point!
This works really well most of the time. I've only had it fail me once. Great tip!
Ooohhh..great tip...I'm going to remember this one. I'm sure that somewhere along the way, my teens are going to do this, if they are anything like their father! LOL :)
Sounds like you know this from experience. :)
Just a note, this also works when you have a teething baby that has had your phone for an unknown length of time and it may as well have fallen in the toilet! Thanks for the tip!
rice works well! Also putting it under a small desk lamp with the battery out for a few!!!
I have done this many many times... Even saved a phone from a Vodka mishap!
Yep... cell phones and toilets just don't mix well.... I've never dropped mine in (yet!... I probably will now!)... but my son dropped it in for me and my hubby dropped his in as well.... I think it's a man thang!lol

Also try taking the battery out and the back off and running your hair dryer on COOL over the rest of the phone for a good 15-20 minutes, making sure you blow the air into/under the keys and in any little crevice you can find. Works GREAT!!! we only have cell phones and can't go w/out them for the couple of days waiting for them to dry. I dropped mine in the sink and hubby's got left in the rain just in the past month. :)
