Blog Tour & Giveaway: Wendy's High School Heisman Program

Mom Central recently asked me to be a part of the Wendy's High School Heisman Program Blog Tour, and help get the word out!

High school seniors with a 3.0 average or higher, who also participate in a school-sponsored sport(s) and contribute to their community can apply at www.WendysHeisman.com. If you're a high school educator, guidance counselor, or coach, you can also can nominate worthy students. The first 41,100 applicants will receive a free Wendy's gift card in amounts ranging from $5 to $50, while one male and one female from each high school will win the award and continue on in competition for state and national awards. Twelve national finalists will participate in Heisman Weekend festivities during an all-expenses-paid trip December 11-13 to New York City. Folks back home, and all over the country, will be able to see the 12 national finalists during the Wendy's High School Heisman Awards Ceremony, which airs December 13th, 2009, on ESPN2.

The deadline to enter is October 1st, 2009, so hurry to get entries in!

I think this is such a great opportunity! I was lucky enough to be able to come up with enough scholarship and grant money to come out of college with less than $5,000 in debt - even without a great GPA. A lot of students won't be that lucky, and if you're the parent of a high school student, I really encourage you to help your kids track down as many scholarships as they can to help get them through college! The internet makes me it SO much easier to find them and apply! (and a bonus for applying for this one: they can even maybe get a free lunch or two with the Wendy's gift card!)

"I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Wendy’s and received a gift certificate to giveaway and to thank me for taking the time to participate."

Win it! Wendy's and Mom Central sent me a $20 gift card to Wendy's that is going to one lucky reader! To enter, I'd like to know your alma matter, or if you didn't go to college, are your kids going to? (If they are not old enough yet, have you started a college fund?)

As always, you can receive extra entries for:
-Subscribing to my feed or following my blog
-Blogging about this giveaway with a link back
-Tweeting about this giveaway (leave the link or @psychotichouse me)
-Add my blog to your Technorati favs (leave your username)

That's five possible entries! Giveaway ends October 3rd at 11:59 PM PST, and please leave your email address in your entry or have it available in your profile. US only, sorry :( Good luck everyone!! :)
