CD Review & Giveaway: Harry Connick Jr. Your Songs

I recently received the chance to review the new Harry Connick Jr. CD, Your Songs, via One2One Network.


Your Songs, which came out September 22nd, is a cover album, full of remakes of some great songs. Let me share with you the track listing (parenthesis is the original artist):

Now I know I'm not exactly the poster child for this kind of music (quit laughing) but I can truly appreciate Harry's voice. I was surprised at how good some of the covers came out - even "Can't Help Falling In Love With You", which happens to be one of my favorite Elvis songs EVER. I adore Elvis! So my verdict: even if you aren't a HCJ fan, but you're looking for a nice CD to relax to, this is a good one to pick up. It has familiar songs with Harry's twist on them.

Well, you've heard my opinion, how about a HCJ fan's opinion too? My mother happens to be a big Harry fan, so here's her verdict:

Your Songs is definitively an enjoyable CD! It's perfect for relaxation, and has great background music for a good dinner or receiving friends! Once again Harry Connick Jr delivers: all time favourites with personal arrangements. Harry is definitely one of the last crooners and a favourite in this household! Choosing a favourite song from this CD is very hard, but for the romantic in each of us: "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Who Can I Turn To?" rates tops with this listener! Thank you Harry, for reminding us that life is not just rush rush and should be enjoyed!
