If you haven't heard of iCarly before, it's a tween show geared towards the 7ish and up crowd that airs on Nickelodeon. It features Carly, her best friend Sam, her dorky neighbor Freddie, and her brother, Spencer. Carly and Sam host their own web show, with Freddie in charge of all the behind the scenes technical stuff. There's lots of silly stuff going on in each episode, with a little bit of learning lessons thrown in.
I was totally amused when I popped the DVD in, and DH came into the room during the first episode and talked about what was about to happen. He kept insisting we had all seen it before - um, no, "we" hadn't. Turns out, they watch iCarly in the break room at work - LOL!!!
iCarly: Season 2, Volume 1 was released on August 18th, 2009, and features 11 episodes, including the TV movie iGo to Japan. It has a few special features, including the making of iGo to Japan, and a few behind the scenes extras. It's rated G, and as a Mom I didn't really see anything that upset me (though I will say Sam got on my nerves throughout the show - I hope my daughter never has friends that brash!) Of course, we're going to rave that we love iCarly just because it's based over here in Seattle! ;)
Verdict: iCarly: Season 2, Volume 1 is a good choice for tweens on DVD, and would make an excellent stocking stuffer during the holidays - if your tweens can wait that long!

I would say that icarly is much more engaging than most of the tween shows out there. My niece had it on last week when she was over and I actually finished watching the episode after she left, something I've never done with any of the Disney shows she's into.
i totally love iCarly. My favorite episode is iWant more viewers. or something like that. They cause an accident on the 405 with a sign that says Pee on Carl ROFL.
