SAY WHAT?

OK, I will start this off by admitting I am anti-vac. Some of you may already know that, but just in case you don't, there it is. It's a personal choice after I realized I kept getting incredibly ill years ago after receiving vaccinations. Behold, the power of the internet, and WOW, my eyes were opened up. I do not like to push my beliefs onto anyone. I believe it's just like I said up there, a personal choice.

But when I saw this H1N1 vaccination article tonight on KOMO news, I really wanted to share it with you.

I am not telling you not to get the vaccinations for yourself or your kids. But what I am asking is that please folks, do your research to make sure you know what they will be giving before getting this vaccination for your kids (or yourself!). It looks like there are several different kinds of vaccinations available for this virus - just make sure your doctor is giving them the one without the mercury! (It was illegal in vaccinations for a reason, why are they allowing it now?) Don't be afraid to ask questions - that is what you pay for when you are visiting your doctors and nurses! (My DH will tell you that he loves questions at work!)

It makes me sick to think they would allow this for our babies. :(

mercury?!yikes! A friend in Belgium sent me a link to a YouTube video that claims some of the vaccines have been maliciously tainted with the bird flu virus. I am 50 and NEVER have had a flu vaccine. I just have a feeling it will make me sick.

i have never had a flu shot and i don't intend to start now. i received something in my facebook a couple of weeks ago about what they put into these vaccines. my sometimers is acting up, and i can't remember what it all said. i will have to find it and read again. the last time my daughter went to see her doctor, he asked her if she got her flu shot yet. she has never had one either, and before she could think about it, they gave it to her. it kind of scares me for her baby.

I've had seasonal flu vaccines but from the very beginning on hearing about this swine flu vaccine I just had a weird feeling about it. I don't see how they can be sure it's safe as fast as they pushed it through. My family does NOT plan to get it.

I do get shots for my kids for a couple reasons BUT I wish I didn't have to.

I DO NOT get the flu shot for my kids. I will not be getting this one.

We just found out about H1N1 over the summer... That was 3 months ago and they already have a vaccine for it!!! What a joke!!!

Nope not in this house

My daughter's new doctor told us that having appropriate levels of Vitamin D protects you against getting sick. She said she read a study that said that most people have very low levels and that those with therapeutic levels did not get sick. She said that 2,000 mg a day of Vitamin D should get your levels up and that it's a simple way to protect yourself from getting sick.

There are many misconceptions about the H1N1 vaccine and I'm like you in some ways, I don't rush to vaccinate. I'm still wary on the Guardasil for Em--the ONLY information I can get is from the manufacturer--isn't that sort of propaganda? I think so.

My hubby worked for the state in the health department in NJ for two years children in NJ at least do not get vaccines with mercury because children are to be given Preservative free vaccines, always. I don't think this applies to Pregnant women though, so please DO check with your doctor :(

I had also heard about the VitD link. So we're pushing eating healthy and being outside a lot in our southern sun! We can't vaccinate for medical reasons, so we're always doing what we can around here to stay healthy!

The H1N1 came out so fast I can't see where the vaccine isn't going to do any good, you can take the chances, or maybe get Swine Flu...either way it can be bad!

THANKS for the comments on the blog layout. I GOT BORED WITH THE OTHER ONE! Can you believe that?

"I just have a feeling it will make me sick"
"I just had a wierd feeling about it."

Misinformed anecdotal garbage. Anti-vaccine nuts like you are the reason hundreds of children will die this year from preventable diseases like measels, whooping cough, epiglottitis, and yes- the flu. Vaccines do not cause autism. That is scientific FACT backed up by multiple large scale randomized controlled trials. Do you people even understand what that means? No. You're too busy listening to crazy theories from a nursing school drop-out ex-Playboy model. (Jenny McCarthy)

Well, since this is MY blog, I'm answering this one, and I don't care:

Hey Doc, I don't know what you're so worried about - if you're willing to take the vaccinations, you (and your children) will be just fine.

Of course, since you have the word DOC in your ID, I'm assuming you're in the medical field. Therefore, you are PAID via pharmaceutical companies to push vaccinations. Don't think so? Don't you make at the very least an office fee every time someone stops in to have a vaccination?
