Thrift Store Tuesday Is Back!

Welcome to another week of resale and thrift store shopping!

My question this week...

Will you be doing any resale shopping this fall season, or do you stop at the end of Summer?

We're year round folks, but I've noticed that with the back to school season, the prices have gone up substantially! I about died when I went in to Value Village last week in search of a couple of t-shirts to wear around the house - the cheapest basic men's t-shirt was $4.99 there!

Here's what I found yesterday with the holiday sales. It was 99 cents at Goodwill. It's one of the Miracle Thaw boards for meat. Apparently, you just run it under hot water for 30 seconds, and lay your meat down completely frozen. Within the hour it should be completely thawed! Since it's one of those As Seen On Tv products, we'll see if it actually works. ;) I figured for the price, if nothing else, I ended up with a metal trivet that I can place my long casserole dish on when it comes out of the oven!

And that's actually all we've found in the last month. We haven't had much luck at all!

So have you found anything good over the last few weeks?

Interesting - I've never seen that product before. Let us know how it works!

We went to Value Village's 50% off sale yesterday and came home with a big load of clothes and a really cute Japanese tea set (teapot and six cups). We went shortly after they opened - a good thing, too, as it got crowded super fast!

I agree, though - Value Village's prices are often way too much. When I can find brand new yarn cheaper at Fred Meyer than the yarn section @ Value Village, something's wrong.

I actually got some CUTE dresses for Princess there. I will have to load them up.

I am not going to spend $30 on a dress when I have 3 kids! Plus if I spend $5 and we take care of it (one can hope right?!?!) Munchkin can use it!!!

My kids clothes come from resale shops.... I find some cute stuff there!!!

My budget hasn't allowed for even thrift store shopping lately. However, I'm definitely a year round thrift shopper. I love love love my thrift stores.

As silly as it sounds, most of the time I don't even think twice about spending $5 there on the munchkin - me on the other hand, I'm too cheap for myself. LOL

Goodwill had some pretty heavier weight curtains today - they wanted $24.99 a panel! Geez!
