I Confess....
I just had to google how to boil an egg. LOL! I had no idea how long to keep them in the boiling water because I have never done it before!
(10 to 15 minutes if you have no clue, either)

My wife has a unique way of doing it. I never had seen it before. She puts the eggs in water on high.As soon as the water is boiling rapidly she turns it off.She just keeps them there and goes about her business. I think it is weird. But it works.
Good to know! I do what Grampy's wife does too. Just get it boiling good then shut it off. But next time I'll watch the time and see if it all falls in the 10-15 minute range!
I put the eggs in the cold water, let it all come to a boil for 2 minutes and then cover it and take it off the heat for 15 minutes.
They're really easy to shell if drain the pot, then shake it to crack the shells before filling with cold water to let them cool
I do it exactly like Grampy's wife does it... my Granny must have taught me that :)

I boil eggs based on what was written in my very first cookbook (betty crocker) back in college--put eggs in cold water, and then put on burner til its boiling. once boiling, take off the heat, cover for 18 minutes, and then rinse w/cool water.
perfect every time =)
I do it the same way as first poster's wife...I put them on until they boil...stick a lid on for 15 min...perfect hard boiled eggs every time!!
