Randomness - Help Charities For Free, Plus Contests

Instead of overwhelming us all with a million and one posts, I'm going to include some of the cool things that have landed in my email box over the last few days!

Campbell’s is partnering with the National FFA organization (Future Farmers of America, just in case you don't know what it stands for) in the Help Grow Your Soup campaign. There are 10 farms that have been nominated; each has their own story and a barn that needs some help. For every vote cast on or before January 5, 2010, Campbell’s will donate $1 to FFA (up to $250,000). The top five barns will then be announced as the winners during the month January. I hope you'll take a moment out of your day to stop by and put a vote in - you can vote every day, and you don't have to register!

Make a promise to enhance the time you spend with your family around the table at ShareTheTable.com, and Barilla will donate $1 to Meals on Wheels Association of America (up to 150,000). Plus, you'll also be able to download a mealtime guide for free that includes tip and recipes from chef Mario Batali.

Have you adopted your pet from a shelter or rescue? Share a picture of your cat or dog, and their adoption story to win a trip for two to NYC to a taping of the Martha Stewart show (take me with you if you win please! lol), a year's supply of Purina One dog or cat food, and a $10,000 donation from Purina One to the One Hope Network animal shelter of your choice! For rules and to enter, visit Martha's website.

Did you know it's Vampire Power Awareness Month? Not the Twilight kind of vampires ;) - the electic appliances that drain power and cost us money, even when they are turned off! www.vampirepowersucks.com is a fun new website that not only shows the scary amount of money being wasted, but it allows you to calculate your energy loss based on the appliances you have in your home. Plus, you can enter to win free electricity for a year!
