Review & Giveaway: Silk Heart Health Soymilk

I recently received several coupons to try out Silk Heart Health soymilk and write a review.

According to Silk, Silk's Heart Health soymilk is the first soymilk in the US to offer both soy protein, and Phytosterols (a naturally sourced plant protein). So it sounds healthy, alright, but does it taste good? That's always the million dollar question around here. I'm always fighting a battle with my DH to get him to eat more natural and organic foods, so if it doesn't taste good, it will be a losing battle.

We had tried Silk's chocolate soymilk in the past, but never the Heart Health, so I was curious. It comes in Vanilla flavor. Evil me, I let my DH be the guniea pig try it first with his morning cereal. He said it was perfect, that he couldn't really tell that there was supposed to be a vanilla taste at all.

I decided the next test would be to cook with it: I tried with from the box mashed potatoes (hey, it was late at night!) and a cheesey hamburger helper dish. Both came out perfect, with no vanilla aftertaste. This was good, because I don't really want to be buying two separate milks - my fridge isn't that big! I've also baked with it, and used it to make a cream of soup. I didn't have any problems, and seriously, could not tell the difference in taste.

The color is a little different from regular milk - it's a little more beige, so if you're trying to sneak it past your kids, you might have a little trouble. (who's to say you can't make silly milk and add in a tiny drop of food coloring, if your kids aren't sensitive to dyes? *wink*)

Silk is right now sponsoring the Silk Million Hearts Challenge, where you can enter to win the Ultimate Weekend Getaway for you and five friends! Visit their website for more information, and good luck if you decide to enter!

Win it! I'm getting to have my own Silk giveaway, too! Two lucky readers will win two coupons to try Silk Heart Health soymilk for free! To enter, tell us what you do to keep your heart healthy. Are you eating and using more organic and natural foods? Exercising more? Getting your daily 15 minutes of sunshine for proper vitamin D consumption? (well, Washington folks, I know that's kind of hard here LOL) Share!

As always, you can receive extra entries for:
