I'm so happy to see that the final season is finally available on DVD! Up until now, the only way to have the final season was the buy the complete set together. This wouldn't have been so bad - Amazon has had it for a killer deal on more than one occasion - but the packaging for the 4 seasons together, while it looked fun on the outside, was known to have issues on the inside. Often folks buying the set would end up with scratched discs before they even opened the package due to the faulty inside holders. This is why we held off buying it. Apparently, they have repackaged the whole series now, so hopefully this problem has been solved.
Now Fraggle Rock: The Complete Final Season is a five disc set, containing all 24 episodes of the last season including the series finale. It also includes almost 2 hours of bonus features that will make my fellow Fraggle lovers swoon, as it also includes the evolution of the theme song Dance Your Cares Away, as well as footage from the last day of filming. The bonus features are the same as previously released in the boxed set, so if you already have it, you can pretty much skip this one - unless, you're collecting everything Fraggle - then you need it! If you've been buying the single sets, you know that they included artwork; this set doesn't. I looked it up just in case my copy just didn't have it since it was a review copy, but it looks like none of the Season Four sets do. I know this doesn't make a difference to our kids, but those who are reading and wanting to buy for their collections, heads up.
Fraggle Rock: The Complete Final Season runs 596 minutes long, and is Not Rated, as it is for all ages. There is no violence or bad language in any of the episodes. Since my DH assures me there are people that care, it is in Full Screen Format, not Widescreen. (not that I think this matters, but he does. LOL) It retails for $29.98 (Amazon has it for a steal at $20.99 right now!)
If you are on the hunt for a gift for an 80's lover or die hard Fraggle Fan, this is definitely a wonderful choice! And of course, if you are wanting to bring the magic of Fraggle Rock to your kids, it's perfect! Out of all the seasons, Season Four truly had the most wonderful episodes your children would enjoy.
