My family and I recently received a copy of Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock - A Merry Fraggle Holiday to review.

As my returning readers know, we are HUGE Henson fans, and Fraggle addicts! We were so excited to learn that Fraggle Rock: A Merry Fraggle Holiday was being released on DVD Tuesday (November 3rd) Actually, I think when the package arrived, I was maybe a little too excited, lol. (Maybe just as excited as the day I found the vintage Red Fraggle doll at the thrift for the munchkin! LOL) We popped that DVD in right away and I had a blast dancing around with the munchkin during the songs (even if the holidays are still a bit away!)
A Merry Fraggle Christmas is actually the release of the holiday themed shows from back in the 80's. It features three episodes:
"The Bells of Fraggle Rock" - The holiday loses it's meaning for Gobo, even though the the other Fraggles are excited and busy getting ready for it.
"The Grapes of Generosity" - Gobo finds enchanted fruit that compels anyone who eats it to share it with others, but Gobo decides to keep it for himself.
"The Perfect Blue Rollie" - Wembley and Boober find a rare stone called "the Blue Rollie", and Boober wants to keep the discovery from all his friends.
Fraggle Rock - A Merry Fraggle Holiday also features a bonus animated (not the original puppets like the 3 episodes - this is from the cartoon version) episode called "The Great Fraggle Freeze", as well as Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas Sing Along, a look at Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy, and Traveling Matt's Holiday Trivia.
It runs 74 minutes long in total, and is Not Rated, so it's for everyone. It is free of any violence and bad language, and appropriate for littles on up to until they get bored (and then again at our age if they are into their 80's still, lol) Retail price is $14.99, but Amazon has it for just $8.99, making it the perfect for for a stocking stuffer!
For my fellow die hard Fraggle Friends: this disc does not contain any new Fraggle releases - the episodes are all available on the different season(s) box sets. Some of the extras I don't believe are available on the season discs though. Of course, if you are super die hard, and want everything Fraggle, you'll want to snatch this up. If you're looking for a great way to introduce the Fraggles to kids in your family, this disc is a great way to do so without overloading them with too much Fraggle Rock.

Is that the episode where they sing "Pass it On!" and pass the Christmas/holiday rock??? Gees, I love that number.
Fraggle Rock, wow that takes me back. Wasn't on very long around here; but my daughter loved it when she was young. We had some Fraggle Rocks Books, too? Or at least I think I remember that.
