Review And Giveaway: The Friendship Stone

One of my favorite movies is With Honors. If you'll remember, his character picks up stones to signify special occasions. I've done the same in my life, picking up one from moments I want to remember- I have a rock from my college days back at Ohio State (oh, and a BUCKEYE too! LOL) - Ottawa residents may recognize this one - a rock from the lady who feeds the cats over by Parliament Hill - and of course, one from my wedding day. I have a beautiful purple velvet box I keep them in.

My DH refers to it as my rock collection. Whatever! LOL I believe stones can bring back memories of when you picked them up or was given them. Because of this, stones can have powerful healing powers in your mind - think of it, a stone picked up at the happiest day of your life can always bring comfort to you during worn out times. Memories are powerful!

I was recently contacted about The Friendship Stone. The Friendship Stone is a beautiful reminder of the friends on our lives. Every time we look at it, especially if you carry it around in your pocket or purse, you'll think of the one who gifted it to you. The stones aren't plain jane either, they are beautifully polished, and come with a pretty soft carrying bag. The Tiger's Eye stone I received in my Friendship Stone gift fit perfectly in along my finger, and each way I looked at it, it almost seemed to change a little.

20% of the profits from The Friendship Stone are donated to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America. 10% of the profit is also donated back to Project South Africa - the villagers and the women craft persons from where the stones originate in west South Africa, which means purchasing this gift gives even more to those who really need it. Because of this, I'm very glad to include The Friendship Stone in my Holiday Gift Idea Guide this year!

Right now, The Friendship Stone is currently running a contest through February 15th, 2010 asking for our inspirational stories. The winners from the writing contest will receive two Friendship Stone Necklaces ($300 value), and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America will receive $1,100 to help. For more information and to enter, click here.

Win it! I am so happy to be able to gift one of my lucky readers a Power of Two gift pack, which includes two pretty stones, one for you to gift, and one for you to keep. To enter, I'd like to know who you will give one of the stones to - will it be a family member? Your significant other? Your very best friend?

Because I really would love to help spread the message of The Friendship Stone, if you visit their website and enter the contest, I'll give you an extra five entries into my giveaway!

As always, you can receive extra entries for:

-Subscribing to my feed or following my blog
-Blogging about this giveaway with a link back
-Tweeting about this giveaway (leave the link or @psychotichouse me)

That's four (4) possible entries, plus an extra five (5)! Giveaway ends November 28th at 11:59 PM PST, and please leave your email address in your entry or have it available in your profile. US only, sorry :( Good luck everyone!! :)
