Triaminic Cold & Flu Tracker (Giveaway!)

Yep, it's still cold and flu season throughout most of the country. Luckily, we seemed to have dodged a bomb for the most part with H1N1 (I'm not saying it hasn't affected folks, just saying it wasn't as bad as it could have been!!), but we all know that even just a basic cold isn't exactly fun - and it's even worse when you're a kid!


The folks over at Triaminic have put together a little Cold & Flu Tracker website where you can see the germ activity in your state. It also features tips to prepare your medicine cabinet, how to handle sick days, and some other great information. Even if you don't use Triaminic, you might find some of this information kind of handy!

According to the map, here in the Seattle area we're in the yellow zone - the risk of catching a cold or the flu is moderate. I'm not surprised, with the warmer weather we had over the weekend, followed by yet another downpour today, I'm sure even more folks will get sick this week. (Please, oh please, keep your germs to yourself! lol)

Just a reminder, getting kids to wash their hands isn't as hard as you would think. Fun soap dispensers (there are some that even play music), singing a song (usually with smaller kids, singing the ABCs is the right mount of time to be washing their hands) and just making sure that they see you always wash their hands will help get them in the habit.
