Triaminic Cold & Flu Tracker (Giveaway!)

Yep, it's still cold and flu season throughout most of the country. Luckily, we seemed to have dodged a bomb for the most part with H1N1 (I'm not saying it hasn't affected folks, just saying it wasn't as bad as it could have been!!), but we all know that even just a basic cold isn't exactly fun - and it's even worse when you're a kid!

The folks over at Triaminic have put together a little Cold & Flu Tracker website where you can see the germ activity in your state. It also features tips to prepare your medicine cabinet, how to handle sick days, and some other great information. Even if you don't use Triaminic, you might find some of this information kind of handy!

According to the map, here in the Seattle area we're in the yellow zone - the risk of catching a cold or the flu is moderate. I'm not surprised, with the warmer weather we had over the weekend, followed by yet another downpour today, I'm sure even more folks will get sick this week. (Please, oh please, keep your germs to yourself! lol)

Just a reminder, getting kids to wash their hands isn't as hard as you would think. Fun soap dispensers (there are some that even play music), singing a song (usually with smaller kids, singing the ABCs is the right mount of time to be washing their hands) and just making sure that they see you always wash their hands will help get them in the habit.

Plus, if you do use Triaminic or would like to have some on handy just in case your kids get sick (which I recommend always having a bit of medicine on hand just in case, no matter the brand!), you can print a coupon to save $1.50 off your next purchase of any Triaminic product!

Win it! Three lucky readers will win a Triaminic prize pack to help their kids battle any germs they might get! (The prize pack consists of four 14 ct boxes of Triaminic!) To enter, tell me how your family battles the germs! (Easy peasy!)

As always, if you have completed the first entry above, you can also receive extra entries for:

-Subscribing to my feed OR following my blog
-Blogging about this giveaway with a link back
-Tweeting about this giveaway (leave the link or @psychotichouse me)

That's up to four (4) possible entries! Giveaway ends January 23rd, 2010 at 11:59 PST. US Only, sorry. :( Please leave your email address in your comment, or have it available in your profile so I can contact you if you've won. Winners drawn via Random.org.

Triaminic is a medicine. I am not reviewing or recommending this product - please check with your child's pediatrician before using any kind of medication for the first time. I will be receiving a sample of this product, and three winners will receive a prize pack straight from the sponsor.

I avoid busy places during flu season.I never let my kids use public fountains, restrooms etc unless absolutley necessary and we do the hand washing thing constantly.I also keep sanitizer in my purse at all times for a quick touch up or after going to the store or anywhere other people may have touched.

We use tons of GermX even after hand washing !
One thing I insist on is changing clothes as soon as we get home.
Germs get all over your clothing & when you get home it best to change clothes & put those germy clothes in the washer asap.
Alot of people do not realize ho many germs they have on their clothes. Best to not spread that all over your house.
