DVD Review: Gary Unmarried The Complete First Season

"He should be afraid of girls - they pretend to like you and then they take all your stuff!"

LOL! My DH was really excited that we were sent Gary Unmarried The Complete First Season on DVD to review. Alright, alright, me too - it was a change from all the crime scene dramas we seem to be watching around here as of late!

Gary Unmarried features comedian Jay Mohr as Gary, a newly divorced man basically trying to figure out what comes next for him. In the first episode of season one, he finds out his ex-wife is now engaged to their MARRIAGE COUNSELOR! LOL You can't help but feel sorry for the guy.

While some of the jokes here and there seem a little forced, I was cracking up laughing a lot. DH was rolling! Actually, there's a few moments in some of the episodes where you don't know whether to laugh or not, because you're almost feeling sorry for Gary, I'm telling you. The line up there is from the first episode, where he's talking to his son who is afraid of girls. Those who have gone through a divorce or watched someone close to them go through one, will probably identify with a lot of the things brought up in the show - from who gets the kids when and for what special occasion to seeing all your stuff is your old home, where you can't use it anymore and want it back.

If you're looking for some adult laughs, Gary Unmarried The Complete First Season is worth the watch, especially if you haven't seen it before.

Gary Unmarried The Complete First Season contains some great bonus features, including bloopers in Gary Unhinged: Bloopers from Season One, Tuesday on the Set With Jay, Planet Begley - an eco-friendly look into Gary Unmarried, and The Chemistry of Comedy, where you get to go on an all access tour of Gary Unmarried.

Gary Unmarried The Complete First Season lands on DVD tomorrow, February 9th! It features all 20 episodes from the first season on 3 discs, and runs 424 minutes long total. (Each episode was half an hour in the original time slot) It's also wide screen. The show is full of adult humor and adult situations - the DVD is rated TV 14 DLS. The suggested retail price is $39.99, but Amazon has it on pre-order for just $29.99 as of this posting.

I received this DVD to review. The Amazon link above is for your convenience - it's not a referral link.
