That Was Sorely Disappointing
I've reached the point where for my grocery shopping that I am just in and out for the loss leaders, and then hit the outside of the store for the fresh fruit and marked down meats and breads. I have certain stores where I grab things, like bananas at 3 lbs for $1 at Save-A-Lot, so I'm usually in and out. It keeps my bill low, which is what we need right now.
Today I took a stack of coupons, mostly for free products, that I've accumulated, and a bunch of them are set to expire at the end of this month. I started off at the Albertsons I don't like (Mile Hill), and was super cranky that once again, the items that should be free were going to be costing me, because their price is WAY high. We're not talking 10 or even 20 cents here, we're talking 70, 80 cents, even $1 higher! Yikes! I grabbed the tuna on sale and a package of marked down bakery bagels at 99 cents and ran out the door.
I tried Fred Meyer, and half of it they didn't even carry! It was actually my first time in Freddy's in a couple of weeks, and I was kind of startled at some of the empty shelves. Booooooo! I like to do the bulk of my coupon shopping at Freddy's whenever possible since it counts towards the gas discount, but today felt like such a waste of time. I think I ended up with 2 of the items on my list!
I envy y'all with double coupons, I really do!

Our Albertson's is the same way. The prices are way to high. I'd love to be able to shop there because I really like the feel of a grocery store instead of a super center.
I have a ton of coupons for really cheap frozen veggies, but no one here carries the right product. I went through 4 different stores and never found them.
Ug...I hate that. I have sort of stopped major couponing unless it's something I can get at Walmart. I just don't have time to organize my coupons, check for deals, or go to different stores. Hopefully once I'm done with my current job and start my new one I'll have a little more time (no more studying at least!).
Wow you sure are dedicated I go through spells where I use coupons but I give up on that to easily.
JT: I'm glad (well, not really, but you know what I mean lol) it's not just ours!
Kali: That's a major bummer! :( I love having frozen veggies on hand for easy additions to my meals!
Casto: I'm not really a major couponer, I really only use a couple each week. I only get one paper each week, too. And because I know the layout of each store, and do self checkout, it usually takes me the same amount of time to do 3 stores as it would take me to do 1!
Sundcarrie: It takes patience but you really end up saving money!
