If you're unfamiliar with the Bibleman series, it's a superhero named Bibleman who fights with the power of God. All "episodes" feature scriptures and lesson based on the Christian Bible.
In the newest installment, Combating the Commandment of Confusion, Bibleman must stop Commandment of Confusion, and his trusty sidekick Chaos from stealing the Bible Team's secret weapon - the armor of God.
The scripture tie-in lesson is from 1 Corinthians 14:33 (ICB) : “God is not a God of confusion but a God of peace.”
This DVD is live action, and actually taped from a live stage show, so some things may seem a little off in the timing. For those already familiar with the Bibleman series, this DVD continues in the same vein and does not disappoint. It's fun, and corny at the same time, but teaches your child(ren) important lessons.
If this is your first foray in Bibleman, it may be an acquired taste. Kids will love it, adults may not. The message is what's most important, not necessarily the strange looking superhero. ;) (Bibleman's costume is actually based on Ephesians 6:14-17) Think the silliness of the original Power Rangers, on a live show with a Christian theme - there's Bibleman.
There are several bonus features on the DVD, including "The Word of God Song", and behind the scenes footage of the sword training used for the "fight" scenes. (I use the word fight loosely here)
Combating the Commandment of Confusion runs 60 minutes long, and is widescreen edition. It is not rated, but appropriate for ages 6 to 10. (older kids may still find it fun the first go around). The suggested retail price is around $9.99 (including at Amazon), as well as your local Christian bookstore. Obviously, there is no bad language or extreme violence to be worried about.
I received a copy of this DVD to write a review. No other compensation was given.
