Let's be honest, we all have self-esteem issues. Maybe it's our weight. Maybe we don't feel comfortable talking in front of others. Maybe we feel ugly all the time.
Take those feelings and think of our kids feeling that way. :( Building up kids' self esteem is one of the best things we can do as parents and mentors.
Journal Buddies are a creative way to help build self esteem in your kiddos. (or grandkids, nephew, etc). Created and written by Jill Schoenberg, there is a version for boys, and one for girls. Each journal entry has a thought for the day, focus words, and blank space to write down whatever they want. There are 30 different journal entries, all meant to be written with a "Journal Buddy" - this could be a parent, a friend, teacher, pastor, etc. This helps build healthy relationships, something very important for kids' self esteem!

Journal Buddies are appropriate for ages 7 through teens, and you can purchase them over at Amazon for $15.25 as of this posting! Maybe this would be a good Easter Basket gift?
If you'd like to get updates, you can become a Fan of Journal Buddies over on Facebook.

I don't know any above 7 boys but this sounds like an amazing thing and I will be purchasing a couple for my nieces soon.
ok...I have to say...I think kids have TOO much self esteem these days (or maybe it's just fake self esteem, not the real thing). So many seem to think that nothing is their fault and that the world owes them just for being alive. I want my boy to have real self esteem - the ability to think for himself and not follow the crowd.
I never seemed to have a problem with self esteem. I wore suits to high school. ROFL =) Such a NERD!!!
Posted there as Nikki. I hope to win this for my 12 year old son.
