Qwest's New Outrageous Fees
Dear Qwest,
Let me get this straight - I save you money by paying my bill online, but now you want to charge me $1 for the "convenience" fee, but the people paying their bills through the mail, don't have to pay anything extra?
Huh? Excuse me? I save you money by your company not having to process checks, plus I help the environment, and you want to make ME pay?
Not to mention the fact that there was no notice at all on the bill, and you tried to get me when I went to pay the bill? Talk about underhanded and rotten.
Maybe if you didn't send so many glossy promo items week after week trying to get customers to upgrade their accounts to land lines, which are on the way out, you might not need to raise extra money.
I can't even begin to start on all the problems I've had with your company in the last two years with my internet not working, and your lousy customer service issues.
I hope the $1 was worth it, because you've lost yet another customer.
Sincerely,
Storm the Psychotic Housewife

LOL, go you, Storm! I was just kvetching to a friend about a similar issue I had with a company. They ARE underhanded and sneaky aren't they? And PUSHY!
the fees people charge are ridiculous! Our apartment complex just started allowing online payments. Awesome! No, there is $20 fee! How could it possibly take anyone near that to 'process'
It costs $20 to pay our mortgage online unless we set up a direct deposit.
Doesn't that drive you crazy???! what is with that fee?? I don't think I have been charged that anywhere, but I've heard other people talking about it. Crazy!!! I'd mail the darn thing and make them wait now!
Hubby says now he's going to look at the bill and see if we're having to pay this extra dollar too. Thanks for bringing this problem to my attention.
Wow, we converted to online payments to save time and 44 cents. Thanks for the warning. I will now have to double check the bills.
Yet another reason I am so very happy with MagicJack! 19.95 a year cant beat that I hate companies that try to pull that shit! I would NEVER pay a fee to give a company my money BOYCOT
Yet another reason why we canceled Qwest several years ago. We're with Comcast now for phone, internet, and TV. SO expensive...but way better than the service we got with Qwest.
I just now went and checked, because if they pull this stuff, I was going to pay by mail. Well, I looked at the very end and I found this notice:
Effective 03/05/10, there is no longer a fee for paying bills online.
I guess they listened to their customers?? Naw...
