Gaming Review: Frogger Returns (PSN)

Remember the original arcade Frogger back in the 80s? Didn't that rock? Well, my fellow 80's lovers, there's now Frogger Returns, available on the Playstation Network. Thanks to the Game Review Network, DH and I were able to play it!

The Arcade Mode is pretty similar to the original arcade game, in that you have to jump through lanes of traffic and other different traumatizing scenarios (lol), while not being hit or killed, all while being timed. Try to get the box, which gives you invincibility for a few moments and may help you get to the safe spot to level up. Ther's other boxes to snag too, such as one to reverse the obstacles, and one that will stop time.

You can also play at your own pace without being timed on free play. This is a great way to get used to the controllers for the game. (Or if you are like me sometimes, and hesitant to jump until it's just right! lol)

There is also a multi-player option, and for the trophy collecting obsessor, there are four trophies to be won playing this game.

It's a fun game for the first few minutes. I hate to say it, but it's really the kind of game you play when you're feeling rather nostalgic. You'll play it for awhile one evening then you'll ignore it for a few months. (or longer) The colors are bright, and it's awesome on HD with the PS3. Of course there are glitches like almost all PS3 games, but the only thing that really annoyed me (and DH) was that sometimes you weren't really sure how far you had to jump - it was hard to tell exactly where on a log you were, for instance.

The retail price on Frogger Return is $4.99, and it can be downloaded via Playstation Network.

I received a download code in order to play this game and share my opinion. No other compensation was given.

lol I remember playing this for hours and hours. Then after playing it all night on my way home I would start to think on coming cars were froggers and logs. :)
