Review & Giveaway: Zade: One Night in Jordan

Zade, a Jordanian composer and incredible piano player, recently returned to his homeland to hold a concert for peace at the Historic Roman Amphitheatre in Jordan. Inspired by the King Of Jordan, King Abdullah II, a CD and DVD was released to commemorate this occasion - One Night In Jordan: A Concert For Peace.

If you've never heard of Zade before, you are probably in the majority. (and probably don't watch a lot of PBS, lol) Zade is rather young - just 29, and besides being known for his beautiful music, he's also a bit of Jordanian eye candy. ;) He's reached number one on the Jordanian music charts, which I know some people would say is very easy to do, but still. Zade has performed for many throughout the world, including the Dalai Lama.

One Night In Jordan: A Concert For Peace was his first television special here in the US. It features the renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London, as well as the prestigious London Voices Choir, and several well known studio and live musicians that have worked with artists like Shakira and Paul McCartney. In all, one hundred musicians from 40 nations traveled to Jordan to perform for this special concert with Zade. His music is filled with passion, and love - he loves what he is doing, he loves his country, and he wants to share that love of his country with us all through his music.

One Night In Jordan: A Concert For Peace on DVD has a different order than the track listing on the CD. The DVD also features some bonus features - a behind the scenes look at the concert, an interview with Zade in Petra, the "Untold Fairytales" music video, as well as some photographs of Jordan on the inner booklet.

Here's the track listing for the CD:

1. Zaina
2. The Lion Of Jordan
3. New Beginnings
4. Helwa Ya Baladi
5. Untold Fairytales
6. Santiago's Dream
7. Tango
8. Comes To An End
9. If We Only Have Love
10. Amman
11. Heya
12. Kingdom of Peace
13. Awal Mara

I had never heard of Zade before this--He has such a sweeping, grand piano styling--a classical touch to his work. I like it very much and would enjoy his CD.
