Review: Subway's Breakfast Menu (Giveaway!)

Early this morning, we headed off to the airport a little over an hour away to pick up my parents who were arriving. (My Mommy and Daddy are here! YAY!)

We are not morning people.

We are also rarely on time.

At least I admit our faults. The lateness meant we had no time to grab anything to eat before we left. Luckily, I had just been asked if I was interested in reviewing Subway's new breakfast menu and had received a gift card for us to try it out.


I'll be honest, I'm not fond of breakfast foods I don't make myself. I've always avoided fast food breakfasts like the plaque. I'd rather suck it up and wait until lunch foods are served - I just don't like the greasy mess that most fast food breakfasts are. (or the soggy buns - ew!) And I shudder to think about the calorie count in some of the muffins. (Bagels I can do! But they are always so expensive, I can't bring myself to spend the $$$.) I do love me some Subway sandwiches though, so I figured their breakfast versions would be good.

Subway is open for breakfast at most locations at 7 AM. (7:30 on Sundays at some) Kudos to the location we stopped at - we were in and out in under 5 minutes, so we didn't add much to our lateness. An English Muffin Melt with a 16 oz cup of coffee is just $2.50, so that's a pretty good deal to me. (If you don't drink coffee or are super picky on your coffee like me, just ask if they will let you order soda from the fountain machine instead like I did. I can't guarantee all locations will, but they were super nice about it.) I tried the Double Bacon, Egg, and Cheese - well, without the egg. I added some peppers and olives to it - mmm! Just like any Subway sandwich, you can add the veggies you want to them. And if English Muffins aren't your thing, you can also choose from flat breads and regular breads (prices vary). I liked it - I'll definitely try it again if we're on the hunt for breakfast when we're traveling.
