Giveaway: Motor Oil Matters

MyBlogSpark recently contacted me about Motor Oil Matters. It was another one of those perfect timing things, because we were due for an oil change.


Did you know that in the United States the average age of cars and light trucks on the roads today has reached a record high of 9.4 years? Our car is even older than that I just realized (cringe!), and I can tell you, it's super important to keep up with your car's maintenance as it ages, or you'll end up with even more bills down the road. Trust me! We've bad our share our car related bad luck here!

As part of the Mother Oil Matters spark, MyBlogSpark also sent me a $35 gift card to Jiffy Lube to have our car's oil changed. Being the frugal person I (sort of) am, I made sure to do a quick search for a discount coupon for Jiffy Lube before we went in. I found this $5 one here. (If you sign up for their mailing list, and aren't in a hurry for your oil change, they do say they have more coupons they will be emailing!) We'd never been to Jiffy Lube even though our local one is located right next to Fred Meyer. (We usually go to another chain that happens to be right by our Goodwill, so we can waste time in there.)

I know when we are getting to the 3,000 mile mark with our car without even looking at the mileage - she starts to run a little funky. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions when getting your oil changed or your car worked on, folks. It's your vehicle, you are paying the tab - you have a right to know! If you don't understand, and it's not being explained, there's always Google when you get home or on your iPhone. ;)
