Random Thoughts Tuesday - Behold, The Sun!

randomtuesday

Breaking news! I took my wedding ring off because my fingers still swell up like hot dogs and lo and behold, I have a very small tan line! Yes Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus!

Snort, giggle, giggle. You have to understand, this is Washington, land of little to no sun. Seriously, it was 72, and we heard people complaining it was too hot. 70 you break out long sleeves and light coats in south Texas. LOL ;)

Um yeah... with the warmer weather comes my neighbors leaving their windows open - one just yelled "oh yeah, I'm your daddy now, ain't I?"

I'm sure I don't want to know.

Really.

I took a survey the other day on a possible food product, and at first I wanted to say that people weren't that gullible as to believe the claims they were trying to say, but then I thought about it - sadly, some people are. Sigh.

My allergies are back in full force after a 2 day reprieve. Drat!

I've been productive lately around the home, but I am wishing there were better deals on foods other than meats here. My freezer is full, so I feel blessed there (we still have two turkeys to cook in the next month or so, even!), but my canned veggie supply has dwindled, I really need to get more flour and corn meal, and there's a few other things we could use.

Oh, and toilet paper. If I run out of that, my DH would never forgive me. ;)

I'm not so sure my DH is doing that great on the whole blood sugar thing. At home, yes; at work - no. On the bright side, he has lost a few pounds, but there's a lot more to go... so I just keep dragging the guy out for family mini-hikes/nature walks. I guilt trip him into it. ;) The problem is that he can't understand that he's so tired because he's not moving enough - he thinks he's tired because of work. (which is stressful, I know) If he ate right, got his blood sugar under control, and dropped that 30 pounds, he'd feel SO much better, but I'm sure most of you know that arguing with your husband can be like banging your head against the wall. Sigh!

I'm on the hunt for a new camera. I'd like to stick to a Canon, I'm rather brand loyal there - I've had lots of them over the years and I'm usually really pleased with them. It is taking me 60+ photos to get 5 good shots for my blog, so I know it's time. It does good photos outdoors, but with the flash being wonky now, indoors in low light is horrid - and the last thing a parent wants to be without is a good camera. So I'm saving my Amazon GCs from surveys and Swagbucks for that now. Phooey - there goes my Excalibur (dehydrator).

We finally got around to watching Knowing. Yeah... the ending was not what I expected. lol DH asked me if a situation like that scared me, and I said no. It's not one we can prepare for in anyway but spiritually. I agree with the father on that one. The second they mentioned ozone burning up, you know you're DOOMED! lol And let's be honest, people talk about surviving this and that (even me) but I prepare for small disasters - in a full on nuclear holocaust, who wants to survive that? I have seen the previews for The Road which is coming to DVD soon, and I find living through that to be more of a nightmare than a blessing.
