Back to school season is upon the horizon, and The First Day of School is meant to introduce pre-schoolers to getting ready for school. Going to school for the first time can be a scary experience, and Nickelodeon is trying to help combat these fears with this fun new DVD. It contains five episodes featuring kids' favorite Nick characters:
Dora the Explorer: "First Day of School"
Go, Diego, Go!: "Linda the Librarian"
Blue's Clues: "Blue Takes You to School"
Wonder Pets!: "Off to School/Save the Pangaroo"
Ni Hao, Kai-Lan": "Lulu Day"
As you can probably guess, we were all over the Dora (Owa!) episode like peanut butter on a jelly sandwich. ;) It was nice to see a fun Blue's Clues episode included on the DVD as well. None of these episodes are new, but having five different shows together on one DVD makes you feel like you are watching Nick - only without the commercials, and with a great theme. (Although the Ni Hao, Kai-Lan" is a little borderline)
Nickelodeon: The First Day of School hits the streets tomorrow, Tuesday, July 13th. It's full screen edition, with no bonus or special features. It's rated G, safe for all ages, but those over the age of 4-5 will be incredibly bored, fast. The total running time is 122 minutes long, and the suggested retail price is $16.99.
I received a copy of this DVD in order to write a review.
